Installation and Preparation
Yes! The installation process of Icon is quick and simple thanks to our pre-cut and labelled panels along with our step by step instructions. Find out more about our wallpaper installation here.
We require measurements in centimetres.
It’s advised you wait four to six weeks after painting to install your wall mural. This will ensure the paste creates a secure bond between the wall mural and the wall.
Yes - Before installation, make sure your walls are clean and free from dust and dirt.
Walls must be completely dry.
Walls painted with a silk paint should be roughened with sandpaper to ensure a tight bind.
It’s recommended you have the following for installation:
- Scissors/scalpel
- Bucket
- Large brush
- Rubber roller
- Pencil
- Tape measure
- Spirit level
- Decorators sponge
The majority of walls will be compatible with a wall mural, however, textured walls should be avoided.
Installation is quick and easy but you must follow our instructions. Individual instructions are sent with each wall mural and can be found here.
It’s recommended two people measure the wall. Measure the wall you want to cover with a tape measure and provide the highest and widest measurements.
Don’t include any skirting boards etc. as these will not be covered.
If ordering a wall mural for a section of the wall, measure the area ensuring the lines are straight. It’s recommended a pencil is used to mark the corners for reference when the print arrives.
If there are any obstacles, disregard these for the measurement.
Add an additional 5 to 10 cm to the height and width to trim during installation.

No - Our wallpaper paste is applied directly to the wall avoiding the need for a pasting table.
Just ignore the object when you’re measuring your wall. Then, when you’re installing your wall mural, use a cutting tool to go around the obstacle and remove that section of the wallpaper.
Although this is extremely uncommon, if you have any issues, please contact our Customer Service Team who will be able to help.
Our installation process is so easy that even DIY newbies shouldn’t struggle. If you are using a decorator, we recommend ensuring they read our instructions.
Removing Your Wall Mural
Yes - Unlike traditional wallpaper, our wall murals are removed in individual sheets without damaging a wall.
Wall murals are designed to be removed easily in full sheets. Use a tool with a point to lift the top corner of the wall mural, then slowly pull each individual sheet down in a smooth motion.
No - Wall murals are designed for an easy removal. Ensure you remove slowly to avoid any damage.
General and Ordering
Our wall murals are made to last up to 3 years, though it could last even longer with proper installation and care.
Peel & stick murals use sticky vinyl applied directly to the wall, while pasted murals require wallpaper paste to attach the mural to the wall.

Our wall murals are designed for single-use in one location due to their long lifespan.
We accept most file types, but for JPEGs, the file size and quality should be as high as possible.
The minimum size is 100cm by 100cm, and the last mural width cannot be less than 10cm. There’s no maximum size.

Wall Mural Care
To ensure you get a long lifespan for your wallpaper, please follow our installation instructions and avoid areas where there’s direct contact with water such as a shower. Just clean using a soft sponge and warm water.
